Vegetation Management Technician - $500 Bonus for Licensed

Compensation: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour depending on experience, licensing, and certifications.
Job title: Vegetation Management Technician

New Hire Incentive:
$500.00 Sign on Bonus after 90 days when hired with current Commercial Pesticide Applicators License.

What you will be doing:
As a Vegetation Management Technician, you will play a vital role in reducing noxious and invasive weeds at a variety of locations, including private residences, industrial sites, open spaces, and pastures. You will utilize a range of equipment, such as off-road ATV's, UTV's, pickup trucks, hose reels, and backpack sprayers. While prior experience operating outdoor power equipment and familiarity with pesticide usage are preferred, they are not required. We value enthusiasm and a willingness to learn!

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Use various equipment to apply herbicide products for control of noxious and invasive plants.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and proficiency in applying various types of chemicals, including pre/post-emergent, selective/non-selective, and broadleaf herbicides.
  • Operate powered equipment such as ATV’s UTV’s and tractors.
  • Follow proper procedures for chemical handling, storing, loading, mixing, and applying.
  • Identify common ornamental, native and non-native trees, shrubs, and herbaceous species.
  • Adhere to General Tree Service Standards regarding paperwork, equipment, and production.
  • Demonstrate exceptional customer service and maintain positive internal relations.
  • Uphold on-the-job safety practices and contribute to maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Assist in other related tasks as assigned, such as supporting other departments as needed.

Requirements:

  • Clean driving record with no DUI's, reckless operations, or similar violations in the last five years
  • Capability to lift 50+ pounds and walk several miles daily.
  • Willingness to occasionally work weekends and early morning hours.
  • Adaptability to work outdoors in varying and adverse weather conditions.
  • Digital dexterity and muscle coordination necessary to control field equipment.
  • Proficiency in following written and verbal instructions in English.
  • Ability to maintain written records and demonstrate legible written skills.

An Ideal Candidate:

  • Is dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Has a positive attitude and dedication to providing excellent customer service.
  • Is organized, detail-oriented, and has effective communication skills.
  • Possess an Oregon Department of Agriculture Commercial Pesticide Applicator license.
  • Has experience handling and applying pesticide products.

Plant Health Care Territory Technician - IPM $500 Bonus for Licensed

Compensation: $19+ Depending on Experience
Job title: Plant Health/Turf Care Technician

New Hire Incentive:
$500.00 Sign on Bonus after 90 days when hired with current Commercial Pesticide Applicators License.

Job Description:
Manage Plant Health Care programs for a residential route in the Portland Metro Area. Includes communicating with customer regarding needs in their landscapes, applying Insect, Disease, Weed Control and Nutrient treatments as needed to trees and shrubs, turf and working with Area Representative to make sure all the Customer's landscape needs are being met.


Arborist / Tree Climber - $500 or $2000 New Hire Bonus! 

Compensation: $24 - $38 per hour depending on experience
Job title: Experienced Climbing Arborist / Experienced Pruning Crew Leader

New Hire Incentive:
$500 Sign on Bonus after 90 days when hired with 2 years or more of crew leading or climbing experience
or $2000 Retention Bonus when hired with ISA certification. ($500 at 90 days, $500 at 6 months and $1000 at 1 year)

Qualifications:

  • Love of the outdoors
  • Experience climbing trees under the supervision of an ISA Certified Arborist.
  • Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping.
  • ISA Certified Arborist or Certified Tree Worker (Preferred not required)
  • Tree Risk Assessment Qualified (Preferred not required.)
  • Insurable driving record and ability to drive large chip trucks and trailers.
  • Team oriented problem solver.

Arborist Trainees / Groundsperson 

Compensation: $19 - $25 depending on experience
Job title: Grounds Operations Specialist

Position Overview
Assisting the tree climbers for the purpose of pruning, removal, or the installation of supplemental support systems. Operating chippers, chainsaws, skid steers, and articulated loaders. Using mechanical advantage, pulleys, and roping techniques to safely lower branches and wood from aloft. Begin training to eventually learn to climb trees.


Job Duties - What You’ll Do:

  • Assist tree climbers.
  • Work as part of a team with tree climbers and crew leader.
  • Assist in performing all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully.
  • Work the rigging lines in removing or reducing limbs throughout the tree canopy.
  • Assist tree climbers in the installation of cables and brace rods.
  • Assist tree climbers in the removal of hazardous trees.
  • Properly maintain, prepare, and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.
     

Qualifications - What We’re Seeking:

  • Love of trees and the outdoors
  • Ability to lift more than 50 pounds.
  • Don’t mind manual labor and working outside in all weather conditions.
  • Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or related outdoor field.
  • Legal driver’s license and ability to drive large chip trucks and trailers.
  • Team oriented problem solver.

SOME OF THE REQUIREMENTS

  • Good verbal/written communication and customer service skills
  • Current drivers license and insurable driving record
  • Pre-employment background check, drug test and physical
  • Ability to walk several miles daily and lift/carry up to 50 lbs
