Equipped for the most complex tree removals
If you have a dead oak tree posing a hazard or a large evergreen fell on your home during one of our famous wind storms, we can safely remove it.
No matter the circumstances, having a tree removed is a big decision so we encourage our customers to ask questions so they know what to expect.
All tree removals require a skilled crew using the right equipment and tools and we come prepared to handle any situation.
From tight quarter removal to trees next to powerlines, we strictly follow our safety protocols so your family and our employees are kept safe for the entire removal.
- Climbers use tree saddles and safety lines when working above 15 feet
- Ground crew uses safety devices to control traffic and helps in lowering large limbs
- All staff wears the necessary head, eye and ear protection
- Only trained employees allowed to work within 10 feet of energized lines
Stump grinding gives you options
Once the removal is done, you’re left with the stump so grinding is the most logical choice for most homeowners. The stump will be ground down below soil level and can be filled in with wood chips to blend into your landscape or dirt so you can plant grass. Either way, once the tree is gone and we’ve cleaned up the area, no one will know you once had a tree there.
Pruning can reduce chance of storm damage
Trimming trees of dead, dying or diseased branches not only promotes healthy growth, it can also reduce the chance of storm damage. Why?
Dead or diseased limbs are weaker, which means they’re more likely to fail in high winds and may land on your car or house, causing more problems for you.
In fact, regular maintenance pruning (also called preventative pruning or tree maintenance) consists of several things that can limit breakage and decrease the chance of a tree falling during high winds.
For instance, crown cleaning and tree thinning lowers wind resistance as it allows the wind to pass through the canopy.
A good rule of thumb is that you should be able to see the sky through the leaves and if you don’t, the tree probably needs to be thinned.
Specialty pruning for everything in your yard
There’s many different types of pruning and General Tree Service has arboricultural experts who are proficient in all of them. For example, detail pruning will keep your prized maple in the front yard looking amazing while structural pruning on younger trees will ensure they grow up strong.

Root zone enhancement
If you have a tree with small leaf size, crown dieback or girdling roots, you may be interested in a Root Zone Enhancement (RZE).
A RZE is part of our holistic approach to tree care that centers on the root mass-the tree’s natural delivery system for water and nutrients.
A site evaluation can identify your tree’s health issues and determine if your tree will benefit from a RZE or other root health care services.
