WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY

We have just had two maples removed by General Tree and they did a fantastic job. Both trees were diseased and rotting and they felled them safely and quickly. Excellent cleanup and communications.
The crew was on the job as promised and cleaned up each day as if they’d never been there. All the crew were courteous and friendly to onlookers.

Have used them before and will use them again.

How is Tree Removal Accomplished?

Cutting down a tree is a big job especially when the tree is growing near a house, road, or utility poles. When a certified tree company removes a tree their goal is to remove the tree while causing the minimum disruption to the area around it. Not only is patience and experience important to keeping the area around a tree safe, but the right set of tools is also crucial.

At General Tree Service we have nearly a century of experience removing trees safely. Our arborist certification means that we operate at the highest levels of safety for our workers and our customers’ properties. Additionally, we have a fleet of trucks and every tool we need to take care of any job from clearing a lot to removing a tree out of a manicured landscape.

To accomplish a safe tree removal, our crews start by protecting the area around the tree. Plywood is used to prevent lifts and machinery from damaging the turf. Crews start by climbing the tree with special rigging or using lifts to start cutting out the canopy. Debris is safely lowered to the ground where the ground crew shreds it or loads it up for haul-away. Working from the top down, piece by piece the tree is removed with no effect on the surrounding area.

Types of Tree Pruning

When trees grow in nature they are in constant competition with other plant and animal life for resources. When trees grow in yards and green spaces, the adaptations that allow them to compete in nature can have adverse effects that negatively influence their health. One of the ways that General Tree Service addresses unhealthy growth is through a process called “pruning.”

Tree pruning helps to remove unnecessary growth from a tree and shape it so that it grows in a way that is structurally sound. Some of the methods of tree pruning that are common are:

  • Crown Raising: Arborists remove low-hanging branches to make it easier to maneuver under trees.
  • Crown Restoration: Poor pruning techniques can negatively impact the shape of the tree. Crown restoration restores a more natural growth habit.
  • Crown Thinning: Reduces the total weight of the tree and allows light and air movement within the canopy.
  • Crown Cleaning: Dead and diseased branches are removed to prevent spread

Stump Removal Methods

Stump removal has been a hassle in the past. But, with the right equipment, stump removal can be done in about an hour. Stump grinding is the industry standard for stump removal for several reasons. Some of the things that set stump grinding apart from other stump removal methods are:

  • It is faster
  • Does less harm to the surrounding landscape
  • It is cheaper
  • Allows for faster recovery of the area
  • Reduces the old stump to beneficial mulch

General Tree Service has a dedicated crew for fast and affordable stump removal. Why wait for nature to take its course on your stumps. Get them removed today and help your lawn get back to normal faster.

A Holistic Approach to Tree Health

Trees are living organisms just like us so it makes sense to take steps to keep them healthy. An arborist is like a doctor for trees that understands their nutritional requirements and how to treat them for problems. An arborist has years of experience not just in tree removals but in maximizing the health of a number of different types of trees. Some of the things they specialize in are:

  • Pest identification and treatment
  • Fungal treatment and prevention
  • Nutritional needs and fertilization
  • Safe pruning and trimming methods
  • Soil management and amendments

General Tree Service has multiple certified arborists on staff. When you choose our experts to help you with tree health you can rest assured that you are working with the most qualified professionals in the industry.

General Tree Service has crews that are always on call to deal with emergencies.
